The campaignDon’t be fooled into being a straw man” was initiated by the Fiscal Audit in October 2014 year. The scopeincludes direct actions involving informational and educational meetings with university students, undergraduates, youth, teenagers and unemployed registered at Polish Employment Offices.Simultaneously, indirect actions have been undertaken through the media: radio, television, the Internet and the press.

Where did theidea forthe campaign come from?

Fiscal Audit carrying out its activities frequently meets people who are drawn into an organized criminal group, which main purpose is VAT extortion.

Whatis the purpose ofthe campaign?

Our goalis to pay attention to the risks associated with the activity of organized criminal circles, information and education about safe ways of running business. The main aim to explain the consequences of issuing and using fictitious invoices, as well as participating in the carousel fraud.

Whatis themain message?

We want to make all potential victims of criminal groups aware of the fact that if they were offered to participate in carousel fraud as "straw man" or "buffers", such fiscal frauds are punishable - not only by the fiscal but also by the Penal Code.

Above all,we would like to communicate that such thing as quick and easy money doesn’t exist.

Before you join a criminal circle think and realize what you might lose:

Freedom

Issuing fictitious invoices is an offense for which you might be sentenced to up to 8 years.

Respect

Nobody respects the offenders. Do not condemn yourself and your loved ones on social condemnation. Allow your children to be proud of you, and not have to live with the blemish of a parent - the offender.

Your and your family’s well being.

Being the issuer of fictitious invoices results in being under the obligation to pay the amount of input tax.

Issuing and using fictitious invoices with multi-million amounts, you will be obliged to pay off your debts to the state budget for a very long time.

Property

Always think about your future and your loved ones. During fiscal audit all your savings, a car or a house can be taken away.

A chance in your normal life

Bailiffs prevent you from taking a loan for an apartment, hire purchase etc.

Work

No one will employ an offender and no one trusts the offender.

Think before you takeonemisstep

We must remember that by participating in fiscal fraud one faces severe penalties, not only financial, but even imprisonment up to 8 years. Let's not get caught up in an organized criminal circle. Nobody respects an offender and the blemish remains for life on him and his family.
